Paranormal Investigations of Mid-West America (P.I.M.A.) also known as a.k.a. Extreme Hunters. This is a group that was formed back in June, 2010. On the principles that we are looking for is an explanation for ourselves in the paranormal field. We started as two-person team.  We started doing cemeteries as a training ground to listen and train our ears, and to this day we still use them. In August, 2010 we started to build up our team to introduce the paranormal field and theories to others that were interested. We now have a total of 8 active members in our group, and always are on the lookout for more members. Our main focus is to help those who need understanding and an explanation of the paranormal field, while we still look for the questions and answers on how life is after death.

One of the reasons of why we are called the,” Extreme Hunters”, is because of the type of style we do our investigations in. Michael is the calm and collective type of investigator. Brandon is the bold and outspoken type of investigator. This is why together we have come to be known as the “Extreme Hunters”. Michael is more of people person and that’s why he is our Public Relations Officer, and helps get our cases for the group. Brandon is our Equipment Tech, with the set-up at the investigations, and runs our webpage; Tina is our resident researcher for the group. The type of investigation we like doing is a blind investigation sometimes, just by going into a place and find if its haunted not to pay for these high dollar places to investigate. Mostly we do our research before going into the investigation so we know what we can use as a trigger to get a response from what is there if anything. Do the mapping and testing of the place while we are there before starting the investigation.

We formed this group as a hobby of ours and us the use theories and ideas to sharpen our experiences to the extreme. This is how we have gathered physical, auditory, factual evidence, and experience in the investigations we have been on. Paranormal Investigations of Mid-West America was a name that took some time to come up with when we first started our team. This team has different areas of research and hunting. The areas are paranormal hunt, paranormal research, ghost hunting, and sky searching. We don’t just rely on equipment we use our survival instincts, and common sense when we are on investigations outside for training our ears for noises and use our eyes for strange activity in the woods. We deal with a lot of recordings, photos, and videos we use to find the paranormal activity or natural causes for the sounds that we capture. Michael is a Hunter, while Brandon is the outdoorsmen, and both of these guys love the nature to the fullest.

We are not by any means experts in the paranormal field. No one can ever be an expert in an ever changing field like this. We learn just like everybody else does, in the field. We consider ourselves more seasoned investigators. We do our best to get what we can with our equipment and our senses. A little history about P.I.M.A., which shows what we have done over the past two years together and what strengths we have built from our experiences. Our first investigation was at Doty Cemetery, which we did on a weekend. The next cemeteries were New Indian Cemetery, also including Old Indian Cemetery. We have gone to Ashmore Estates in Ashmore, IL on November 13, 2010 for 6 hours with another paranormal group. This poor farm was very interesting with all of the paranormal claims and the activity we actually captured that night.

Over the course of two years, house cases that we have done in this time. Locations of these places involved Pekin, IL all the way down to Olney, IL. Total number of houses we have done is 9 cases. Business cases we have done cover from Monticello Railway Museum to a Charleston, IL private business. Numbers of business we done is 4. We have worked with different cemeteries in the Coles, Moultrie and Douglas County area. Another case was land that had different Indian tribes settled, (which includes a creek that went right by the old settlement of Blakeman’s Bridge, near Union, IL Township).  It had a lot of arrow heads, and SIU uses the clay from the creek for their pottery class. We have done 3 meet and greets, which are called paranormal conventions. We have worked alongside with Olney Paranormal Investigators (O.P.I.) on a few house cases and Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. We joined Effingham County Ghost Hunters Society on an investigation at St. Omer Cemetery on March 31, 2012 it lasted for about 3 hours.

P.I.M.A. was at the Olney Paranormal convention that was taken place at Olney V.F.W. on April 28, 2012 which the guest speakers were Michael Kleen and Michelle Ollis. Everyone that was there got a chance to speak, and share their experiences about themselves and fielded questions from the public. For the future events, we have been asked to do an instructional paranormal investigation at Peck Cemetery in Piatt County, October 13th 2012. We are going back to the Monticello Railway Museum for another meet and greet and the Ghost Train. Stay tuned and thank you for your continued support.
